Open up NCWise and click the "Setup Options" Button |
|
Click the "Preferences" Button |
|
On you TAM setup page remember that all boxes should be checked except TAVG% on the left and "Allow Shared Access to Student Progress" on the right. Once all of this information is correct click save and then click the My Preps Tab at the top of the box. |
|
Click Add to create a new Prep. Before you can continue on with setting up your
preps for you classes you must first decide how you will be grading all of your
classes. For example, if you are a math teacher who teaches one class of
Algebra 1 and two classes of Technical Math you have a couple of options here
which all depend on how you weight your assignment types. Option 1 applies if
you weight your assignment types differently for Algebra 1 and Technical Math.
In this instance you would have to the create two separate Preps, one for
Algebra 1 and one for Technical Math, and configure the weighting of each Prep
accordingly. Option 2 applies if you weight all three of your courses the same
no matter the subject. In this case you simply have to create the one Prep and
assign all of the classes to that Prep.

|
Step one in setting up your Prep is to assign the your classes to the prep which is as simple clicking "select classes," checking the boxes beside the class you would like to add, and clicking ok. The second step is to create a "General"
Category by typing General in the first box under "Category," checking the box beside it and clicking "Add". The Final step is to add the Assignment Types that you plan to use for this Prep and assign the weights of each Assignment Type to fit your grading style. To do this you simply click the Add button, check the boxes beside each Assignment Type you use, click OK, and finally type in the
numeric value of your choosing beside the Assignment Types. I don't
suggest you check the default assignment type box beside any of your assignment
types so you will always have to fill that field in when creating a new
assignments. After all of this is complete you click save and exit out the door.
