Health Science Student of the Month

Ashe Memorial Hospital is proud to be a sponsor of the 2017-2018 Health Science Student of the Month Program, states Laura Lambeth, CEO of Ashe Memorial Hospital. “We are pleased to honor Karissa M. as the Health Science Student of the Month for October and wish her well in her pursuit of a nursing degree. We hope to recruit her to Ashe Memorial Hospital when she obtains her degree.”
Karissa is currently enrolled in the Advanced Health Studies program at Ashe County High School. She received the Health Science Student of the month by excelling in academics and having a strong motivation for learning. She plans to attend Caldwell Community College to obtain an Associate Degree in Nursing. After Nursing School. Karissa hopes to work in Ashe County and pursue a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. After graduation, she would like to work in the field of Geriatrics.
Important information for Seniors

Seniors, WNC Grad will be here on Tuesday, November 21 to take orders. This meeting is for your cap & gown and tassel and any other senior items available for purchase. It is your responsibility to purchase the cap & gown and tassel, these are NOT provided by the school.  They will be here during SMART lunch and from 3:30 -6:00 pm.

Attention Seniors! You do NOT need to worry about choosing your yearbook portrait from Prestige.

The yearbook staff has already chosen the images needed for yearbook; in fact, those pages are already in publication with Jostens.  
Your parents can ignore those emails and postcards unless they are planning to purchase senior portraits for personal use.

North Carolina Driving School

Students must be at least 14 ½ years old, and enrolled in a public, private, or home school.  It is very important for students to sign up shortly after they reach 14 ½  years of age.  They use the first come, first served method of selecting the oldest student applicants to participate in the classroom and behind-the-wheel instructions.  

The Driver Education course consists of 30 classroom hours, as well as 6 hours of behind the wheel instructions.  Saturday an summer classes are held from 7:45am until 2:30pm for 5 sessions with no make-up time allowed.  After school classes are from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
